Margaret Fingerhut is regarded as one of the most distinguished, poetic pianists of her generation, who has captivated audiences in many different countries. She is particularly known for her innovative recital programmes in which she explores the highways and byways of the piano repertoire. As a concerto soloist she has appeared with all the major orchestras in the UK, collaborating with eminent conductors such as Rudolf Barshai, Paul Daniel, Sir Edward Downes, Sir Charles Groves, Vernon Handley, Leonard Slatkin and John Williams in major venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall and the Barbican. She is often heard on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM and many radio stations worldwide, and her film and television work has included an appearance in Testimony, Tony Palmer’s film about Shostakovich.
Duncan Honeybourne enjoys a colourful and diverse career as a pianist and educator. Commended for his “gripping performances” (The Times), “glittering performances” (International Piano), “fine, sensitive playing” (Gramophone) and “great technical facility and unfailing imagination” (Musical Opinion), Duncan is best known for his interpretations of 20th and 21st century British piano music. He has toured extensively in the UK, Ireland and Europe as solo and lecture recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician, appearing at many major venues and leading festivals. He has broadcast regularly for BBC Radio 3 and worldwide, and has premiered more than 100 new piano works. Over 40 CDs include premiere recordings of piano music by Baines, Bainton, Pitfield, Greville Cooke, Walford Davies, Christopher Edmunds, Armstrong Gibbs, Ivor Gurney and Imogen Holst, as well as many contemporary works. Duncan Honeybourne teaches at the Royal Academy of Music Junior Academy, the University of Southampton and Sherborne School. He has adjudicated and given masterclasses at conservatoires and universities in the UK and Ireland, and has written and published widely on music and musicians.
